NFC World Congress

16-18 June 2009 | Brussels, Belgium

Conference

NFC pioneers, practical experience, technical experts, future trends…

All the signs are that Near Field Communications (NFC) technology is about to become a major international market. Adoption is growing rapidly across the world and developments of note are taking place every week.

The NFC World Congress programme runs over three days, beginning with a one-day introductory workshop for those new to NFC and continuing with the main conference programme over two further days.

Highlights will include…

Lessons from the front line

Day one is devoted to hearing from those who have real world experience of running consumer trials of NFC.

  • In the morning, hear from five teams involved in payments and transit trials. Each will give you practical information on the issues they have faced and the responses they received - information you can directly benefit from in your own field trials.
  • In the afternoon, hear from four speakers with experience of running NFC trials in the non-payments arena including marketing & promotion, content and real-time information delivery, ID applications and connectivity.
The future of NFC

The morning of day two is dedicated to providing you with the information you need to decide how NFC will develop in the future and decide what action you should take.

  • Our Innovation Showcase features ten of the most innovative and leading-edge technologies, applications and projects from the world of NFC. All the speakers are actively involved in pushing forward the boundaries of the market.
Practical sessions that give you answers you can use in your business

The afternoon of day two takes a practical turn with delegates having the opportunity to meet and ask questions of industry experts from each of the different application areas and technical disciplines involved in creating a successful NFC project.

  • Our series of round-table discussion groups allow delegates to join up to four different discussion groups, with topics to include everything from chip design to marketing & promotion and trusted service managers to retailer requirement.
The NFC Workshop

Designed to bring newcomers to the field completely up-to-speed with the subject, this one-day, pre-conference workshop is led by Sarah Clark, editor of Near Field Communications World and the conference director for the NFC World Congress.

  • Sarah will be joined during the day by experts in particular aspects of the NFC ecosystem, ensuring participants get a world class introduction to NFC, its potential, the current state of play in the industry, suppliers, design issues and more.
